On February 23, 2017, White House Announces Policy Of Greater Federal Criminal Enforcement Of Recreational Marijuana While Recognizing Medical Marijuana Use For Relief Of Chronic Pain.
White House reminds public that Federal Law strictly prohibits the use and sale of marijuana which includes marijuana that is both medically prescribed and for the purpose of recreational use. At the same time, Trump Press Secretary John Spicer emphasized President Trumps overall policy as being one of States Rights – but not necessarily as to the issue of marijuana legalization.
Currently, under Federal law, both the use and sale of marijuana is classified as a serious felony and which said drug is classified as a Schedule-One substance on par with the use and sale of heroine and cocaine.
