Living Will

Living Will (AKA: Health Care Directive, Medical Power of Attorney)

The purpose of a  “living will” is to provide your medical providers with your end-of-life instructions, specifically, whether you wish to be  resuscitated, and under what circumstances, should you become incapacitated and unable to speak for yourself. This form of legal document goes by different names depending on the state in which you reside. Without such a document, also referred to as “Do Not Resuscitate” Directive or (DNR) medical professionals will be compelled to resuscitate you even if, for example, you suffer a stroke which rendered you in a vegetative state.
