What are the types of business entities?

Small Business Sponsors

The types are sole proprietorship, partnership (general and limited), corporation (C and S), and limited liability company.

Generally, if you are the only owner, you will be able to form any of the types except a partnership. If there are two or more owners, you will be able to form any but a sole proprietorship.
